FAQs

No. There is no need to visit your GP for a referral.

You’ll be with your therapist for about 30 minutes.

Yes, we will let you know if we feel that your child requires onward referral. All the therapists are experienced clinicians and will be able to assess if your child’s situation would be more suitable for face-to-face sessions.

At the end of your first session your therapist will explain the recommended treatment plan and how many sessions your child might need, and this will be reviewed as treatment continues.

A full case history will be taken to inform the therapist about the child’s day to day communication. We then conduct a full formal speech and language assessment so we can ascertain where your child is in relation to norms for their chronological age. If the therapist feels that therapy will be of benefit to the child, we will then outline the next steps.

The good news is that you don’t need any specialist equipment. You will need to be able to take part in a video call, so you’ll need a computer, tablet or phone, and a stable internet connection. We’d also suggest you find a quite space to minimise disruptions during your session.

Yes! With MyClinic, all our members can access up to 6 appointments per calendar year, at no extra cost.
